Minoru Fujiki (CEO and COO) and Takeo Yoshimura (Director) from IP Bridge, Inc. (“IP Bridge”) participated in the mini-annual conference of LES Japan on October 11, 2019 held in Oiso, Kanagawa, Japan.
Fujiki was one of the panelists for a panel discussion entitled “What is 3W1H for licensing negotiation?” as a member of ICT business working group, and he discussed on issues and challenges about SEP (“standard-essential patent”) license across different industries from the viewpoint of both licensors and licensees. This panel discussion was a great opportunity to share our knowledge as an experienced licensor, and in fact, this panel discussion was very successful to attract the attention of more than half of the participants of this conference.
Yoshimura gave a presentation on “Technology transfer from universities: start-up companies from universities will open the future of Japan. I witnessed how serious Japan is.” In this presentation, Yoshimura explained that the number of university ventures had increased recently and introduced policies of ministries and agencies which triggered this phenomenon. He delivered a speech on how rapid change has achieved through industry-government-collaboration. If you are interested in his presentation, you can find full transcription of his speech at “Intellectual Property, Prism Magazine, August 2019 edition” (Japanese only).
